70 YEARS OF SOUTHERN STYLE

Australia’s hot rodding story reaches a pretty special milestone this year, with Melbourne’s Southern Hot Rod Club celebrating its 70th anniversary — seven decades after it all began in 1956.

Recognised as Australia’s first hot rod club, Southern has been part of the hobby since its earliest days. The club gave everyone a reminder of that history with a special 70 Years display at the recent Victorian Hot Rod Show, bringing together cool machinery, memorabilia and plenty of club pride.

Now it’s time for the party! Southern’s 70th Anniversary Dinner Dance is happening Saturday, October 24 at the Freccia Azzurra Club, 784–796 Springvale Road, Braeside. Bookings are essential, so don’t leave it until the last minute. Sponsors, donations and charity auction items are also welcome.
