CRUZIN MAGAZINE #292
50-plus years in the build – now that has to be some sort of record! Well, Tony Pelligrino’s 1934 Ford coupe wasn’t really ‘in the build’ for all that time, but we applaud him for not letting it slip through his fingers during all of those years!
Our next favourite feature would be our tour of the Hot Rod & Custom exhibit at the Gippsland Vehicle Collection. It’s been and gone, but it was well received that you can expect to see a rerun in the future, or we hope so at least!
Peter Blackmore’s Fargo pickup is a ripper, with a well presented patina and a feisty LS drivetrain, and plenty of great design ideas. Ditto for Bob Matranga’s 1964 Galaxie, a knockout full size Ford from Californ-i-a, with a SOHC to boot! We also check out another show class ’34 from Brissy, and a sharp ’64 Chevy Nova from South Australia. An oldie but a goodie, Darryl Birrell’s 1938 Ford delivery is rare and cool. Rounding out the event action is a visit to the Port Stephens Winterfest car show, and a quick peek at the 25th anniversary of the Syracuse Nationals.
Thanks again to our regular contributors – Aussie Norm updates us on the looming DLRA SpeedWeek; Alan Barton examines the history of four-bangers in scale roddin’, Craig ‘Style’ Counsell takes us to Deuce Days in Wairarapa, and Lori Lee tells us more about Si Cranstoun’s recent Aussie visit.
