TOOWOOMBA SWAP FUTURE DIRECTION

As motorheads from Queensland and New South Wales converge on Toowoomba this weekend, the Darling Downs Veteran & Vintage Motor Club have provided an update on planning for the long-term future of Australia’s second-largest swap meet.

The Toowoomba Swap remains strong, and organisers have confirmed it is highly likely the event will continue into 2027. However, a number of future options are currently being explored, with planning taking longer than anticipated to ensure the best possible outcome for traders and attendees alike.

Among the options under consideration are engaging a professional event management team, remaining at the Toowoomba Showgrounds for a limited period—acknowledging that Olympics-related infrastructure development will restrict longer-term use—or relocating to an alternative venue such as the Farmfest site, which offers a simpler layout but fewer covered areas.

Organisers say the focus remains firmly on preserving the character, scale, and grassroots appeal that have made the Toowoomba Swap a must-attend event for generations of swap meet diehards.

Further updates will be shared as soon as planning is finalised. The latest and most accurate information will continue to be published via the DDVVMC / Toowoomba Swap website at toowoombaswap.com.

It's only fair to share…
