NITRO UP NORTH – DRAG RACING IN NORTHERN TERRITORY

The 2025/2026 ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship will kick off in the Northern Territory with a week-long event featuring the first two rounds of the title chase and the non-championship Red CentreNATS action.

The championship opens with Nitro Up North at Hidden Valley Drag Strip on August 29 and 30, showcasing ANDRA’s sportsman racers alongside 4000hp Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars and the NDRC Top Doorslammer Grand Final. The event promises interactive fan experiences, full pit access, and entertainment for all ages.

Racers will then move to Alice Springs Inland Dragway for round two, the Desert Nationals, on September 3, following a test and tune session on September 2. Additionally, competitors can join the Heavy Hitters racing at Alice Springs on September 5 for the Red CentreNATS, featuring big prize money.

ANDRA CEO Tim McAvaney expressed excitement about this collaboration, emphasizing the opportunity for racers to enjoy multiple events while experiencing top-tier drag racing in the NT.
