Australia’s all-killer, no-filler kustom kulture weekender, Greazefest, is back in 2021 with a COVID-safe event at the Redland Showgrounds in Cleveland, Queensland. The dates are Friday, July 30 to Sunday, August 1 and ticket sales are open now.
For music fans, the band line up has just been released and features nearly two dozen of the finest rockabilly entertainers with a side serving of country, blues and psychobilly. High on the playbill are The Detonators, Rusty Pinto, Red Rivers and Ezra Lee and so many more. For movers and groovers, festival promotor, Lori Lee confirms that there will be dancing!
For the car crew, the hot rod show will run both days, Saturday, July 31 from 10am to 5pm and Sunday, August 1, 9am-5pm. The show is open to pre-1975 American and Aussie classics, hot rods, vintage bikes and bobbers, lowrider cycles, or anything that’s in the kustom kulture style. An ASRF Travel Permit is in place. Only humans pay, there’s no extra fee for your ride, and you can enter on the day but pre-registration is seriously encouraged. The usual set of rules are in place and there are around a dozen cool prizes awarded to the coolest cars and cycles.
As always, the weekend is loaded with extra things to see and do, like the pin up parade, tiki carving, the Built for Speed Art Challenge and Show, and of course those amazing markets. Yes, we look forward to seeing you at the Cruzin stand!
The COVID-Safe event plan does call upon all patrons to display a level of personal responsibility by maintaining social distancing while queuing for food and enjoying the entertainment, and signage and ground markings will assist in these measures. You can get the ball rolling now by pre-purchasing tickets online to avoid congestion at the gate.
