AUTOPIA AT CASTLEMAINE HOT ROD CENTRE

Ready for something different in the way of hot rodding activity, now that we are emerging from COVID restrictions? The Castlemaine Hot Rod Centre’s planned Autopia could be the answer. This is an entirely new event based on a different concept and all housed at the one site, Autoplex Castlemaine. The proposed dates are March 19 to March 28, 2021, with emphasis on the weekends that fall at each end of this period and coinciding with the biennial Castlemaine State Festival that is planned for the same period, plus the following Easter weekend.

Autopia will be a multi-faceted event combining the Castlemaine Auto Model Show (Sunday March 21 only), the Hot Rodding Mobile Heritage display featuring rods built in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, still intact and still in use, and a diverse art show featuring portraits, illustration, garage art and lowbrow from Darron Davies, Glenn Rewell, Stuart Spragg and Ryan Ford. Peter Carpenter will be hosting pinstriping demonstrations and commissions will be accepted.

For more information or to be involved, call Larry O’Toole on 03 5472 3653 or Kim Michelmore on 0412 276 772, or visit the Castlemaine Hot Rod Centre Facebook page.

Rod Hadfield’s ‘Redback’ Anglia caused a sensation when it made its debut at the Narrandera Nationals in 1977. Redback is unchanged since it was built and will be on display at Autopia in March 2021.

It's only fair to share…
