The Goanna Run in Mildura is set for October 27-29, 2017. Amazingly this is the 31st running of this popular event, hosted by Desert City Rodders.
Early birds are invited to a bench session at the Big 4 Golden River Holiday Park from 6pm on Thursday, ditto for Friday night when everyone is in town. Late arrivals can register from 9am on Saturday before the post-brekkie observation run, which departs and returns to Nowingi Place at Ornamental Lakes Park on the Murray River. Saturday afternoon is reserved for whatever you choose to do, until 5pm when entrants will cruise into the city’s restaurant district (aka Feast Street) for the evening street show, which is always a buzz. The roads are closed and parking is reserved for entered hot rods and customs only. Rules are simple – dress nice, no departure until 10pm, and unless you like gas station pies, book your favourite restaurant in advance.
Sunday breakfast is followed by the show and shine at the Mildura Gateway Tavern from 8.30 until noon, those sticking around after that are welcome to share in a Camp Oven dinner back at the park.
The club has done a pretty good job of including all the info on the entry form, including accommodation contacts, Feast Street restaurants and more. The event artwork is cool so tick the box for a T-shirt while you’re at it. Visit www.desertcityrodders.com/goannarun2017 and download your entry form now.
