The 2016 Yamba Rod Run went off almost without a hitch this year, with another great turnout and an incredible selection of super cool hot rods and classics. Aside from a few stray showers, the weekend was a blast with a record 446 entries registering for the anniversary affair. Borderline Street Rodders does an amazing job as host club, but coordinator Lew Falzon is quick to credit all others involved, including sponsors, supporters and the entrants who all chip in to make it a winner.
The event is open to hot rods and chrome bumpers, there is no particular year cut off but the event seems to attract the right cars and attitudes. There’s a bunch of trophies handed out on Saturday night, including Top Ten Hot Rods and Top Five American, all selected via people’s choice.
The Borderline crew are renowned for putting the profits to a good cause. At present they’re continuing their support for Soldier On (www.soldieron.org.au), an organisation who offers Veteran and family support services. Right on.
Yamba Rod Run 2017 is locked in for November 10-12, look for the tear out entry form in Cruzin mag around June.
